Abstract: Black Cormorants
(Phalacrocorax sulcirostis) Daily Behavior ofreeding Season in Pulau Rambut Wildlife
Sanctuary, Jakarta was observed during February–June 2001. There were 10 pair
cormorant selected for study daily behavior in theirs nest, that is nest construction,
take care of child, body maintenance, locomotion and social behavior. The nests
were marked with textile band. 265 hours
were spent to study behavior. Body maintenance (2709 point), locomotion (1430 point), take care of child (1352 point) and social interaction
(1307 point) were in the greatest quantities and turn over brood (53 point) were smaller quantities than the
others behavior. Nest contruction and
take care of child were done by two parents.
Nest contruction were spent 7 - 12 days.
Turn over ensued to three time in 11 hour i.e 09.00 – 10.00 AM, 12.00 – 13.00 PM dan 16.00 – 17.00 PM child of cormorant were eaten four time in 11
hour i.e 06.00 - 07.00 AM, 09.00 – 10.00 AM, 13.00 – 14.00 PM and 16.00 – 17.00 PM.
