DEGRADASI SENYAWA KARBARIL DALAM INSEKTISIDA SEVIN® 85SP SECARA FOTOLISIS DENGAN PENAMBAHAN TiO2 - ZEOLIT

Abstract: An investigation of carbaryl degradation contained in insecticide Sevin® 85SP by photolysis has been performed. UV lamp with a wavelength of  365 nm and additions of  20 mg TiO2-zeolite; 0,8  mg  TiO2-anatase  and  19,2  mg  zeolite  as  catalysts, were  applied  in  the  photolysis  method. The results of degradation were detected by UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 280 nm.  Spectrophotometry  analysis  showed  the  reduction  of  carbaryl  absorbance  after degradation  occured.  Degradation  of  20  mg/L  carbaryl  without  addition  of  catalysts  by photolysis  was  reached  32,07  %  after  150  minutes.  Degradation  percentages  of  20  mg/L carbaryl  with  additions  of  TiO2-zeolite,  TiO2-anatase  and  zeolite  consecutively  were  65,36  %; 55,25 % and 40,90 %.  The results proved that TiO2-zeolite was more effective than TiO2-anatase and zeolite as catalyst in carbaryl degradation by photolysis method.
