DEGRADASI SENYAWA SIPERMETRIN DALAM INSEKTISIDA RIPCORD 5 EC SECARA FOTOLISIS DENGAN PENAMBAHAN TIO2 /ZEOLIT

Abstract: The degradation of cypermethrin in insecticide Ripcord 5EC by photolysis has been done. Photolysis of cypermethrin was carried out by using UV light (λ 365 nm) with the addition of different catalyst amount including 20 mg TiO2/Zeolit​​; 0.8 mg TiO2-anatase and 19.2 mg zeolites. The remaining cypermethrin in the solution after illumination was analyzed by  spectrophotometer UV-Vis at 265 nm wavelength. Results of the experiment showed that only 11 % of cypermethrin was reduced from its solution without the addition of the catalysts in 120 minutes illmunitation. Interestingly, when the catalysts added into the solution of cypermethrin in the same period of illumination time, these following result observed respectively for zeolite, TiO2 anatase and TiO2/zeolite were 19 %, 28 % and 64 %. It can be concluded that by means the combination of the two catalysts, photocatalystic behavior can be improved drammatically.
