PEMBUATAN BIOETANOL DARI AMPAS SAGU DENGAN PROSES HIDROLISIS ASAM DAN MENGGUNAKAN Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Abstract: A research
concerning production bioethanol from sago’s waste by acidic hydrolysis process
and by means Sacharomyces cerevisiae was done. The objective of the research is
to find out appopriate acid concentration and heating time in course of sago’s
waste hydrolysis and to observe the influence of fermentation time toward
change of medium pH , cell amount, and bioethanol concentration. Sample was
hydrolyzed with HCl and H2SO4 ( 1 : 10 w/v) for 0, 30, 60, 90 120, and 150
minutes and acid concentration variation were 0,1 N, 0,2 N, 0,3 N, 0,4
N, and 0,5 N. Optimum reduction sugar be produced from the research is 4.5 g/L
with use 0.3 N sulfuric acid with heating time 120 minute. Hydrolysates
produced from the hydrolysis were followed by fermentation. During such
fermentation there was decrease in the pH of medium and increase of cell’s number. The optimum ethanol production
at the fermentation time was 4 days with concentrations 7,7 %.
