PENGARUH PEMBERIAN PROBIOTIK Pediococcus pentosaceus ISOLAT DADIH SEBAGAI ANTI DIARE PADA MENCIT PUTIH (Mus muscullus)
Abstract: Pediococcus
pentosaceus isolated from curd was performed as anti diarrhea in white mice
(Mus muscullus). Curd was got from Lintau, Batusangkar, West Sumatra. Probiotic
are able to suppress the growth of pathogenic bacteria in the intestine which
cause diarrhea. Probiotics produce antimicrobial substances such as lactic
acid, bacteriocins, H2O2, etc.,which can suppress the growth of pathogenic
bacteria. The bowel frequence, microflora balance and high of ileum villus were
measured. The result of this experiment showing there was different significant
interaction (p<0,01) between dose supplementation with treatment time on the
bowel frequence, microflora balance and the high of ileum villus.
The results of this experiment was obtained mean defecation frequency at
55 on A2B2 treatment by supplementation EPEC after 12 hours and without adding
Pediococcus pentosaceus. The highest mean of LAB total colony goes to the A3B2
treatment by supplementation EPEC and Pediococcus pentosaceus 1x108 CFU/ml
after 12 hours of 97 x 107 CFU/g. The highest mean of Escherichia coli total
colony goes to A2B3 treatment by supplementation EPEC after 24 hours and
without adding the probiotics at 21,5 x 107 CFU/g. And the highest villus goes
to A3B2 treatment at 374,51 µm.
