PENGARUH KENAIKAN HARGA BAHAN BAKAR MINYAK TERHADAP KENAIKAN BIAYA HIDUP MASYARAKAT DI INDONESIA
ABSTRACT: The purpose of this
study is to provide information to the public, businesses, and governments
about the impact of rising fuel prices to rise in the cost of living. Theoretical
basis that supports this research are the theories of inflation because of
problems related to the problem of inflation studied. The theory of inflation that
is used with more emphasis on cost push theory of inflation. The reason of the
selection theory refers to the characteristics of the fuel which is a component
of production costs as well as serving the wider com-munity. Methods in this
study using two approaches namely quantitative and qualitative approaches.
Quali-tative approach by comparing the development of fuel prices and the
Consumer Price Index by using the data of previous studies, by adding a
qualitative variable (dummy variable). While the quantitative approach is done
by processing the data already collected by vari-ous parties in statistic. The
processing data by the Error Corection Model (ECM). The discussion in this research
was conducted to determine the effect of short-term and long term. In the short
term effect of rising fuel prices and economic growth of small and insignificant.
In the long term effect of fuel as well as short-term impact, but the effect of
economic growth is relatively small when compared with short-term effects. In
the long term effects of the economic crisis greater than the short-term
effects. Although overall the inde pendent variable is not significant, but is
able to ex-plain the effect in the short and long term.
