Abstract: The objectives of
this research are explore and discribe the role and contribution of law to
franchise development. To achive this objectives researcher conduct empirical
legal research. Primary data col lected by structuredinterview, and secondary
data collected by content identification. Data analysis using editing analysis
style (textual analysis ). The result ofthis research showed thatthe law have
significantcontribution to franchise development on legality and bonafidityforeign
franchisorand protect small and and medium business as franchisee by determine
time of franchise contract, content of franchise contract, disclosure of
franchise prospectus, franchise regristation facilities, and support small and
medium business joint the intemational franchise expo. The impact of this
research, the goverment created a franchise act.
