KONSTRUKSI KOMUNIKASI KEPEMIMPINAN: Sebuah Analisis Faktor
Abstract: To accelerate
achieving vision and implementing mission, it is very urgent to pay attention
to the concept of leader or leadership, for it will determine quality. It is,
therefore, reasonable if we suggest that the construction of leadership
communication has very strategic roles. There are two postulates of the above
strategic roles. The first is the dimension of consideration . By this concept,
a leader emphasizes to motivate in order that the subordinates or members of
the group can accomplish the tasks to achieve objectives. Besides, the leader
maintains internal and external harmony and members satisfaction. The second is
the dimension of initiating and directing . This concept primarily concerns
with specifying ways and means for accomplishing the objectives of the group
and coordinating activities of several members by making policy, planning, and
executing. It is important for a leader to do a self-construction in communicating messages because: 1) a leader
is an executive; he or she must be the
top coordinator of the group activities, 2) a leader is a planner; he or she
must decide the ways and means by which the group members shall achieve the
goals, 3) a leader is a policy planner, he or she must establish the goals and
policies, 4) a leader is an expert; he or she must be ready to be available as
a source of information, experiences, and skills, 5) a leader is a controller
of both internal and external relations of the group by governing the specific
details of the group structure, and 6) a leader is a purveyor of reward and
punishment which enables him or her to control the group members.
