MULTIKULTURALISME DALAM WAJAH KOMEDI SITUASI KITA ANTARA KESEDERAJATAN DAN KESENJANGAN
Abstract: Multiculturalism is
one of issues in modern society. Theorytically, multiculturalism is not a
pragmatic political doctrine; it is a wisdom policy to manage the cultural
differences among societies. Indonesia is one of islands country, which is
consist of thousands of islands and hundreds of cultures. There are many
crucial conflicts which is caused by cultural problem, such as; ethnicity,
religion, races, and cross classes. In this condition, society must be aware
and accommodative for the multicultural reality in plural society.
Television as a modern mass media technology is not only expected to become
an informative and entertainment media, but also an educative media. Through
its broadcast, it has a big social responsibility to take apart on
multiculturalism campaign. It has various programs, and situation comedy is one
of comedy genre, which is performing on television, which gives more enjoyable
entertainment. Most people do like it, and they will keep on watching as long
as it is performing. By its humor, strong character, setting, soft message, it
becomes a favorite entertainment program. Unfortunately, its performing is not
quite safe to wacth. Sometime, we are disappointed by its excessive joke. The
joke touched on the problem of culture; they make a problem out of cultural
differences. They mock each other with contemptible called. The producer always
creates the unique selling point of program by presenting the stereotype. It is
dangerous for the multiculturalism education
