PENGGUNAAN BAHASA JAWA BANYUMASAN DALAM KELUARGA DI PERUMAHAN KARANG ASRI KELURAHAN KARANGRAU KECAMATAN SOKARAJA (Studi Etnografi Tentang Pola Komunikasi Bahasa Jawa Banyumasan)
Abstract: This research is
entitled “Usage of Banyumasan Language Within Families at Perumahan Karang Asri,
Karangrau Village, Sokaraja District (An Ethnographic Study About Communication
Pattern of Banyumasan Language)”. This research is aimed in analyzing activity,
components, and competency of communication, as well as variety of language
within families that using Banyumasan
language at Perumahan Karang Asri, Karangrau Village, Sokaraja District. Moreover,
this research is using three family units as subject which consist of both
husbands and wifes as parents from Banyumas people, and their children that
actively capable in verbal communication.Using qualitative method in analyzing
both primary and secondary data, this research is applying purposive sampling
in selecting the informant. Moreover, using observation and in-depth interview
for data collecting, this research is also applying data triangulation for the validity,
which comparing different data sources and collecting techniques. This research
concludes on several points. First, the usage of Banyumasan language is
gradually decreasing, as the young and teenagers communicates in Indonesian for
daily language. Second, this decreasing becomes a deep regret among the
parents, as they realized their lack in teaching the mother language, instead
of keep teaching Javanese etiquette and
polite-manner of unggah-ungguh for the sake of regeneration. Third, both verbal
and non verbal ability among the children depends on their parents; therefore a
suitable competency is required in order to make a good lesson for the learning
process. Fourth, nowadays teenager is prefer to use Indonesian language to communicate
each other, due to some reasons, including their limited ability in mastering Banyumasan
language, preventing mistakes during verbal communication, and practically, Indonesian
language is easier to understand.
