STUDI DESKRIPTIF TENTANG PERILAKU PEMANFAATAN INTERNET DI KALANGAN PENGGUNA INTERNET PEMULA USIA DEWASA DI PURWOKERTO
Abstract: The objective of
this research was analyze the behavior of the beginner internet users, both
female and male users with a qualitative descriptive method. The subject were
male and female that use the internet since a year and three years ago with the
interval age of 18 until 29 years old, 30 until 45 years old, 46 until 55 years
old and above 56 years old. The criteria and number of sampling determined by
quota sampling technique are 560
respondents that held in Purwokerto. Data collection was conducted by
interview using questionnaire guide with the same basic question for all
respondents. The data was analyzing with simple statistical method that is
using mean factor and then was interpreted by the narration to show the quality
and phenomena of the research objects. The result of present research indicated
that the majority of the respondent were middle class groups. The 35.7 % of
respondents with internet access length per day were medium users and the rest
of 64.3 % respondents were light users. The male user ( 32.96 % ) is more
active that that of female user ( 27.08 % ) in using the internet for
entertainment objectives such as searching the information for their hobbies,
downloading music, text messaging and online just for fun. The same result were
showed in using the internet for productive objective such as read the news, search
product information, book information, music or movie information, doing
research and activities in relation with
the jobs excluding the email usage that are the male user ( 26.55 % ) is also
more active than that of female user ( 25.37 % ). The usage of the internet for
entertainment objectives (30 %) is more higher than that of productive
objectives (26 %). The usage for online-internet transactions such as to buy
goods by online, online banking and to book online ticket, the male user ( 14.8
% ) were more active than that of female user ( 13.6 % ). The perception of
users’ confidence and security level using internet are only 11% of users said
that " most people can be trustworthy ", 28.5 % of users said that
" they are not sure ", meanwhile 32.4 % of users said that “they are
depends on...” in which interpreted by" depends on certain conditions
" and 28.1 % of users said that “they do not know”.
