KONDISI VEGETASI DAN KERANG GELOINA PASCA TSUNAMI DALAM KAWASAN EKOSISTEM MANGROVE PESISIR BARAT KABUPATEN ACEH BESAR
Abstract: The aims of this
research is to know the condition of vegetation and to determine the
distribution of Geloina pasca tsunami in mangrove ecosystem around west coastal
area of Aceh Besar Regency. It was done in April to November 2008, in mangrove
ecosystem west coastal area Leupung, Reuleng and Lhok Kulam Aceh Besar Regency.
Purposive sampling and sample plot with vertical transect area method were used
to determine the important value index and the distribution of Geloina before
tsunami by interval class frequency distribution. The result shows there are 6
species of mangrove with important value index average 26,6-147,6%; length
spread of Geloina average 8.00-89.94 mm and make 11 groups with 1,5-21,0 months
of age. The conclusion are (1) the
mangrove ecosystem compiler by 6 species plants and Nypa fruticans is dominant,
(2) According to length, Geloina make 11 groups with 1,5-21,0 months of age.
