Analisa Kinerja Engine Turbofan CFM56-3
Abstract: This study focused
on the performance analysis of a turbofan engine type used on commercial
aircraft with CFM56-3 type. The performance tests consisted of several stages
of testing are the the start up testing phase, the minimum idle, the idle
approach, the maximum continuous, the take off, and the acceleration. Each of
test has the characteristics, so the working, efficiency, and thrust at each
condition are different. In order to obtain comparisons between each condition,
the Brayton cycle was used as a reference, then the actual work and the ideal,
the cycle thermal efficiency and engine thrust from each test condition can be
known. The highest thermal efficiency was achieved on the actual take off
condition with an efficiency of 37% while the ideal is 47%, for the actual
thrust of 2397.43873 lb while the ideal is 25091.96387 lb.
