Analisis Pb pada Tanaman Kangkung Air Ipomoea aquatic : Suatu Studi Kelayakan Pangan di Kelurahan Teluk Kecamatan Purwokerto Selatan Kabupaten Banyumas
Abstract: The kale plant
cultivation in teluk village on Soewatio
street R.T. 07 R.W. 03 occupies a land area of 1.5 ha which is managed
by several owners and tenants since 1990. The location is right in front of
Purwokerto bus station which is the largest bus station in Central Java with an
area of 10 ha of land. High activity of vehicles causes air pollution,
especially Pb from gasoline-fueled vehicles. Pb which is entered passively and
actively through the stomata and roots will accumulate on the kale plant. The
kale plant that is consumed by the people resulting in various diseases, since
Pb will inhibit the activity of enzymes in the body.
The research objective are to determine the Pb content in kale plant,
describe the appropriateness of the which is consumed by the people, find out
the Pb pollution in blood of the people who consumd it, and to know the
people's perception of Pb-contaminated kale plant. The data collection was
conducted by surveying the land and the kale plant on some stations are taken
random 0, 3, 30 and 300 m from the
highway in Teluk. Sampling of kale plant and soil ware conducted compositely.
For comparison the kale plants which are planted in areas far from the road (2
km) that is in Bukateja, Purbalingga. Data Perceptions and public health
history obtained by questionnaire to 28 people and followed by blood sampling
probandus who consumed kale plants based on questionnaire data.
From the analysis of Pb content found in the kale plants with average of
4.98 ppm, it exceeds the limit set by the POM No.03725/B/SK/VII/89 and SNI 01-2729.12009,
that is 2.0 ppm. Therefore it is inappropriate to be consumd. The kale plants
conditions in Bukateja, Purbalingga is located away from highway contain Pb
with an average of 1.11 ppm and below a defined limit.
Pb contamination in the respondent blood was detected in ranged between
6.0 and 24.7 mg / dl and the respondent has experienced some diseases. Public
perception of the contaminated kale palnt was very low at 3.6% who state agree
that the kale plants and there is a weak positive relationship between level of
education and the perception of society as a whole on teluk.
Based on the results found in this study, there are some suggestions as
follows: (1) For the government and kale plant farmer to plant Pb-absorbing
plant. (2) For the government as policy maker, it is a time to replace vehicle
fuel with fuel that is free from Pb. (3) For the competent institution of the
Environmental Agency (BLH) to perform monitoring of air quality, especially Pb
in a central vehicles location as well as the location of plant cultivation.
(4) For the Department of Agriculture should proactively providie information
about the sources of Pb and the impact on health. (5) It is advisable to
conduct advanced research related to the effects of Pb contamination of crops,
so it can become an information for the
society.
