HUBUNGAN POLA PEMBERIAN ASI DAN MP ASI DENGAN GIZI BURUK PADA ANAK 6-24 BULAN DI KELURAHAN PANNAMPU MAKASSAR
Abstract: Malnutrition was
still a global problem. Recorded one of three children in the world die every
year due to poor nutritional quality. This study aimed to determine the
relationship giving patterns of breastfeeding and breast milk complementary
foods with malnutrition incidence at toddlers aged 6-24 months in the Pannampu
Village. The type of this study was an observational analytic with case control
design study. Purposive sampling was conducted with the total of sample was 60
infants devided in case (n=30) and control groups (n=30). Data was collected
through questionnaires and anthropometric measurements of weight for age
(BB/U). Data analysis was performed using chi-square test and odd ratio. Sample
in research mostly have male gender and age ranged between 13 until 24 months.
Respondents mostly age ranged between 20
until 30 years, had elementary level of education and worked as a laborer. The
results of this study showed there a significant relationship between frequency
and duration of breastfeeding, the amount of total calories with the incidence
of malnutrition (p=0,017; OR=3,75;95%CI = 1,24-11,38), (p=0,037; OR=3,05;95% CI
= 1,05-8,83) and (p= 0,000; OR=21,000;95%CI= 4,198-105,038). We conclude that
there was significant relationship between frequency and duration of
breastfeeding and the amount of total calories with the incidence of
malnutrition. This research suggested to mothers who have babies in order to
consider the exact pattern of breastfeeding and breast milk complementary foods
to their babies in order to prevent occurrence of malnutrition.
