Karakterisasi Sifat Fisika dari Enamel Gigi Manusia Akibat Paparan Laser Nd:YAG Berbasis Sistem Laser Speckle Imaging
Abstract: This research was
aimed to examine the physical characteristics of human enamel induced by Nd:YAG
laser interaction using the analysis of imaging and FESEM. FESEM machine was
used to analyze the metallurgical effect on the damaged and effected surface of
the sample. Focusing on the Q-switched and without Nd:YAG pulsed laser, an
elliptical lens of 28 mm focal length is used. A Pulnix CCD video camera was
connected to Matrox Meteor II standard board. Human enamel and plasma image
were recorded by CCD video camera, and the data obtained was analyzed by Matrox
Inspector software. The distance between laser and human enamel is 50 cm. Human
enamel was formed flat with a diameter around 6 mm. The variation of internal
pumping are 540, 560, 580, 600, 620, 640, 660, 680, 700, 720, 740, 760 Volt,
and the frequency variation are 1, 5, 10 and 25 Hz. The imaging analysis based
on the laser speckle imaging revealed that with energy pumping of 540 V, no
laser output produced indicated that there was no laser interaction Nd: YAG in
human enamel. Internal energy pumping without Q-switch (with and non focusing)
and non focusing Q-Switch resulted in no plasma production in various frequency
and energy since these pumping only produced multiple reflection and sample
vibration. Meanwhile, the internal pumping with Q-switch and focusing has
disclosed the following physical characteristics: multiple reflection, sample
vibration, shock wave, phototermal, and plasma production. At the frequency of
1 Hz plasma production appeared in 620 V(48.3 mJ) of pumping energy; at 5 Hz it
appeared in 600 V (34.8 mJ), at 10 Hz it appeared in 580 V (21.6 mJ); and at 25
Hz it appeared in 640 V (62.5 mJ). From the analysis of the imaging and FESEM,
it can be concluded that the technique of internal pumping without Q-Switch
(with and non focusing) is not damaging for human enamel, and so is non
focusing Q-Switch. Focusing phenomenon before the exposure of Nd:YAG pulsed
laser on human enamel may cause damage to human enamel. It has proven that the
technique of internal pumping without Q-Switch and Q-Switch Nd:YAG pulsed laser
non focusing can be used for diagnosis in dentistry area, but not for therapy.
Nd:YAG pulsed laser focusing that can produce optical breakdown phenomenon is
more appropriate for use in therapy.
