THE EFFECTS DENSITY TOWARD GROWTH AND SURVIVAL RATE OF MOTAN (Thynnicthys thynnoides Blkr)
Abstract: This research aim,
to understand of effect of density toward growth and survival rate ofmotan fish
(Thynnichthys thynnoides Blkr). Fingerlings were oftained from Kampar
River(10,35 – 10,43 cm SL). Fingerlings were adapted for 14 days before they
were cultured inthe floating net cage. The treatments applied were 40, 50 and
60 fishes/m3. Fishes werereared for 4 months and they were fed on fish pellet,
3 times/day. Results show that thebest results was obtained in density of50
fishes/m3 with absolute growth weight 8,61g, daily growth rate 0,54 %, absolute
growth length 2,43 cm and survival rate 100 %.
