UPACARA RABA’AKIA PADA MASYARAKAT DI KELURAHAN BUKIT AIR MANIS KECAMATAN PADANG SELATAN KOTA PADANG
Abstract: Raba'akia ceremony
is a ceremony performed by the people in the Village of Mount Air Manis.
Raba'akia derived from the Rabaa Wednesday coupled with Akia said that end, so
Raba'akia stands today "Last Wednesday" in the month Syafar. The
ceremony is intended to ask for the safety and protection of the Almighty God.
Society Hill Air Manis said that the moon Syafar it is not a good month, month
and moon lowered reinforcements heat and disease, the goal of this study is to
describe and explain the meaning of the symbols on the Raba'akia ceremony at
Sweet Water Hill Village. This research is a qualitative type of Ethnography.
Data was collected through participant observation, interviews, and the study
results can be known dokumentasi. from meaning Raba'akia word symbols;
significance of the time of the ceremony Raba'akia; meaning of the ceremony
where Raba'akia; meaning Raba ceremonial objects or equipment 'Akia; meaning
Raba'akia ceremonial activities, and meanings change Raba'akia ceremony.
Conclusions obtained by analysis of the meaning of the ceremony Raba'akia
namely: (1) To refuse Bala, (2) Maintaining the tradition, (3) increased sense
of social solidarity, (4) As for the identities of the people in the Village of
Mount Air Manis (5) As recreational vehicle.
