ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS SISWA MELALUI PENDEKATAN PENDIDIKAN MATEMATIKA REALISTIK (PMR) BAGI SISWA KELAS VII MTsN LUBUK BUAYA PADANG TAHUN PELAJARAN 2013/2014

Abstract: Students’ mathematical communication ability is one of the goals of math, but most of the first grade students of MTsN Lubuk Buaya Padang  don’t develop mathematical communication ability optimally. Learning process still focus on teacher centre and less relates learning with daily life. This research analyse students’ mathematical communication abilities during implementation of Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) and comparing students’ mathematical communication ability using RME with conventional learning. This research is a quasi experimental with Static Group Design. Instrument used are quiz and posttest. Research shows that indicators  can be arranged from quietly until difficult to be mastered by students. The indicators are as follow: Express the situation, picture, diagram or real things into the language, symbol,idea, or mathematical model. Explaining some idea, situation, and relation through written text. Giving reason about the fact and checking the argumen. Students’ mathematical communication ability by applying RME is better than conventional learning.
