MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VIII SMPN 8 PADANG TAHUN PELAJARAN 2013/2014 DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN STRATEGI PEMBELAJARAN INKUIRI
Abstract: Problem solving
skills is one of mathematics learning goal in school. In fact, the mathematics
learning goal is not achieved optimally. This is because of strategy that
teacher use not suitable with student’s characteristics. One of strategy that
can be used to improve mathematics problem solving skill is inquiry learning
strategy. The research had been done in grade VIII SMPN 8 Padang. The type of
this research was quasi experiment with Static Group Design. Grade VIII E was
chosen as an experiment class and VIII D was chosen as a control class. The
instrument of this research was an essay test of mathematics problem solving
skills. The result of this research showed that problem solving skill of student
with inquiry learning strategy was better than problem solving skill of student
with conventional learning.
