PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH PENYULINGAN BUNGA KENANGA SEBAGAI KOMPOS DAN PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN ZEOLIT TERHADAP KETERSEDIAAN NITROGEN TANAH

Abstract: The research about exploiting of waste distillation of cananga flower as compost and influence addition of zeolite to availibility of nitrogen in the soil has been conducted.Making of compost was done with heaping method, there were three variation of treatment to waste distillation of cananga flowers, they were (1)added by EM 4, (2) added by EM 4 and sawdust (3)without any addition (as control).Physical perception like temperature, odor and colour were conducted at the time of composting process. .Chemical analysis of C/N ratio was done to compost which have matured. After that, the compost added by zeolite on variation of amounts that was 2%, 4% and 6% to compost weight, then they used at maize crop.Result of research indicate that the compost was made from waste distillation of cananga flower added by EM 4 reaching optimum temperature at 39oC. The compost ready to harvested after 21 day, this compost has C/N ratio about 11,61. Meanwhile, at addition of EM 4 and sawdust could reached optimum temperatur at 45oC and ready to harvest after 20 days. This compost has C/N ratio about 43,81, while without any addition, optimum temperature was reached at 37oC and ready to harvest after 43 days with C/N ratio about 16,18.The results show that compost can be made from waste distillation of cananga flowers with addition of EM 4. Usage the compost that was added zeolite at maize crop can be increasing nitrogen rate at soil. Addition of zeolite 2% nitrogen rate equal to 0.96%, zeolite 4% equal to 1.90% and zeolite 6% equal to 3.31%.
