PENERAPAN METODE PENEMUAN TERBIMBING PADA PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA KELAS XI IPA SMAN 1 LUBUK ALUNG

Abstract: Mathematical understanding is one of objectives in  mathematics learning. Therefore, the mathematical learning is aimed  to  improve  student’s mathematical understanding.  But  in  reality  it  will  be  different  sometimes.  The  low learning outcomes of students at grade XII Science SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung indicate that students  are comfronted to the lack of mathematical understanding. So, the research is done by applying the method of guided discovery. The problem of this research is:”Does the mathematical understanding of students who learn by using guided discovery method  is  better  than  the  mathematical  understanding  of  students  who  learn  by  using  conventional  learning.  The hypothesis  in  this  research  is  the  mathematical  understanding  of  students  who  learn  by  using  guided  discovery method  is  better  than  the  mathematical  understanding  of  students  who  learn  by  using  conventional  learning.  This research is a quasi experiment, with Randomized Control Group Only Design.  The collecting data in this research is using the final test  with  essay tests form wich assest  the student’s mathematical understanding. The result show that  the  mathematical  understanding  of  students  who  learn  by  using  guided  discovery  method  is  better  than  the mathematical understanding of students who learn by using conventional learning at  .
