PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN AIR PADA PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VIII SMPN 18 PADANG

Abstract: Mathematical understanding ability is one of ability that expected to be developed in mathematics learning. But in the mathematics learning that occurs in class VIII SMPN 18 Padang Academic Year 2013/2014 is not optimize students in understanding concepts . Students still memorize concepts without knowing the meaning of the concept. Many students get low achievement that under  75 . One of attempt is Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) learning model. This research wanted to find out the student’s ability in mathematical understanding using AIR model learning better than the student’s ability in mathematical understanding using conventional learning. This research was a quasi experimental research and design that used is static group design . The research showed the student’s ability in mathematical understanding using AIR model learning better than the student’s ability in mathematical understanding using conventional learning in α = 0.05.
