PENERAPAN STRATEGI PEMECAHAN MASALAH UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 7 PADANG
Abstract: Mathematical
problem-solving skills of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 7 Padang did not
develop optimally yet. It happened because the learning process was teacher
center. In addition, teachers have not given attention yet to the aspects that
support the students’ problem-solving skills. This problem solved by
implementation problem-solving strategies. The goal of this research is to know
the increasing of mathematical problem solving skills after implementation
problem-solving strategies and describe the development of mathematical problem
solving skills of students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 7 Padang along the implementation
of problem-solving strategies. The result of this research showed that
mathematical problem solving skills of students after implementation
problem-solving strategies is better than before implement problem-solving
strategies. Generally, problem-solving strategy has a positive effect to
problem-solving skills especially to the aspect of understanding the problem
and planning of problem solving.
