PENGARUH PENDEKATAN PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS MASALAH TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 1 PADANG TAHUN PELAJARAN 2013/2014
Abstract: Mathematics problem
solving skill of students in Junior High School Number 1 Padang hadnot
developed optimally. Problem Based Learning (PBL) Approach was hoped to become
the solution to develop mathematics problem solving skill of students. Problem
Based Learning Approach facilitated the unstructured contextual problem as the
starting point of learning. The aim of this research was to compare the
increasing of mathematics problem solving skill between students who were
taught by using PBL approach and convensional, and describe the developing of
mathematics problem solving skill of students who were taught by using PBL
approach. The kind of this research was combination experiment research and
descriptive by using Randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design.
Instrument that was used in this research was test of mathematics problem
solving and worksheet. Increasing of students’ score of the test was analyzed
by using Mann-Whitney U test, and the data of students’ worksheet score was
analyzed descriptively. Result of this research shows that the increasing of
mathematics problem solving skill of students who were taught by using PBL
approach is higher than convensional, and PBL approach has positive impact to
develop mathematics problem solving skill of students.
