PENGARUH PENERAPAN PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS MASALAH TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH SISWA KELAS VIII SMPN 8 PADANG
Abstract: Problem solving is
one of expected abilities to be developed in mathematics learning. The
observation result at grade VIII SMPN 8 Padang indicates that students had low
problem solving ability. In order to solve this problem, a research took place
which was aimed to see the problem solving ability by using problem based
learning model. Type of this research was quasi experiment with Static Group
Design. Population were four class of students in grade VIII at SMPN 8 Padang
for 2013/2014 academic year. Sampling held randomly. Data were collected
through problem solving ability test. Data of problem solving ability test
analyzed by using the Mann-Whitney U test. This research indicated that the
student’s problem solving ability who learn by using problem based learning
model is better than conventional learning.
