STUDI MENGENAI PENGETAHUAN LOKAL NELAYAN PATTORANI DI SULAWESI SELATAN
Abstract: This research
intends to study and to describe indigenous knowledge pattorani fisherman. The
research used qualitative and descriptive methods by considering quatitative
data. Data collection were obtained by through literature reviews,
participation observation, and depth interview with informants. The data were
analysed based on comprehension and opinion of the communities thorugh the
qualitative and descriptive way, the used comparasion and classification
purposes. Results of this research show that communities of pattorani fisherman
still used indigenous knowledge including : 1) catching activity preparation
ceremony related erudition; 2) technology and fishery production tools, 2) tool
technology use catches; 3) erudition hits fish existence torani with fishing
ground; 4) erudition in catching activity; 5) supernatural erudition in
catching execution; 6) knowledge about sailing for fishing. Local knowledge
fisherman pattorani baseds on from experience that demoted from generation to
generation. Survive it local erudition system is caused by the strong belief
for fisherman pattorani that look at balance value micro cosmos towards macro
cosmos fundamental something that in human interaction and physical nature.
Local knowledge fisherman pattorani consistently can subsidize preservation
bioaquatic resources.
