PERAN PEREMPUAN NELAYAN DALAM PRODUKSI DAN DISTRIBUSI HASIL LAUT (Studi Kasus: Pada Perempuan Pencari Kerang di Desa Percut, Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan, Kabupaten Deli Serdang)

ABSTRACT: Fisherwomen's Village is a traditional fishing Percut who still use the traditional way to capture the sea. The main livelihoods (livelihood) in the village are dependent on marine resources, then their income also depends on natural conditions. If the natural environment so they can not be bothered to fish or fishing. This promotes the role of women also became a seeker shells to support family economic life can be better. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study that describes the role of women fishing in the production and distribution of marine products. Data collection techniques used participant observation and in-depth interviews.
The results showed that the involvement of women as housewives as a form of job seekers shells aimed at the welfare of fishermen household economy. It is also affected by a decrease in husband's income, and reduced the sea, it is necessary for the participation of women working outside the home as a seeker shells. With the operation of women in the public sector and the domestic production process and distribution of shellfish causing a double burden for women in the village Percut shell seekers.
