PENGARUH PEMBERIAN BIOAKTIVATOR EFFECTIVE MICROORGANISM 4 (EM-4) TERHADAP KECEPATAN DAN KUALITAS PEMBUATAN KOMPOS SERTA PEMANFAATANNYA SEBAGAI BAHAN AJAR BIOTEKNOLOGI DI SMA
Abstract: Effective
Microorganism-4 (EM-4) is a highly effective bio-activator to inoculate organic
waste to accelerate the decomposition process. Various researches related the
use of EM-4 in deciphering organic materials has a lot to do, but only a few
are doing research on the use of EM-4 dose right in outlining household organic
waste. This study aims to determine the effect of EM-4 with respect to time and
the quality of the composting as well as the utilization of biotechnology in
high school teaching materials. The study consisted - of experimental and
descriptive quantitative research. In the experimental stage, composting is
done to look mature compost with design for six treatments and three
repetitions. Composting speed is calculated based on the time of composting and
compost quality parameters seen by nutrient content (C-organic, N-organic, the
ratio of C/N, P2O5 and K2O), whereas quantitative descriptive research is used
to determine whether the materials are made viable if used as teaching
materials. The analysis showed there is a real gift influence bio-activator
Effective Microorganism -4 (EM-4) on the speed and quality of results
composting (p<0,05). Addition of Effective Microorganism-4 (EM-4) during
composting can increase the abundance of microorganisms in the material and
then of course the overhaul will accelerate the process of organic matter into
compost. If the organic material can be completely overhauled, the more
nutrients are released in the compost pile include elements N, P, and K
organic.
