PENGARUH KOMPOSISI STRUKTUR BAHAN PADA PERAMBATAN PANAS PADA KAMPAS REM SEPEDA MOTOR

ABSTRACT: Brake is one of the component that is important for safety. It is used to decelerate, control and stop the rotation of the wheel. There are many kind of product of brake pad  in the market. AHM ( Astra Honda Motor) is a factory product that is different compare with INDOPART which has many grade of quality.  The aim  of  this  research  is  to  compare  the  heat  transfer  on  the  brake  pad  which    the  material  structure  are asbestos  and  non  asbestos.  Testing  materials  were  3  sample  of  asbestos  and  3  sample  of  non asbestos.  Experiment  were  done  by  rubbing  the  surface  of  sample  on  the  rotating  surface  of friction. Based  on  the  experiment,the  heat  transfer  compare  with  thermal  conductivity  (q/k)  of    brake  pads with structure material asbestos was lower than brake pads with structure material asbestos.
