Simulasi Numerik Perpindahan Panas 2 Dimensi Pada Proses Pendinginan Tembaga Murni Dengan Variasi Cetakan Pasir Dan Mullite Menggunakan Pendekatan Beda Hingga

Abstract: Heat transfer simulation on cooling process of pure copper was performed to determine the conduction heat transfer that propagate through the sand mold or mold mullite with convection boundary conditions. Simulation is done by solving the equation set conduction with convection boundary conditions using a finite difference approach. The finite difference approach is done by solving the equation conduction of heat transfer by ADI method for the calculation of the 2 dimentions of conduction equations. The finite difference method is solved by Fortran Power Station 4.0 and Matlab 7.8 software. The simulation results is show that pure copper cooled using mullite mold will cool faster than pure copper that is cooled using sand molds. This is due to the different properties of sand and mullite.
