TUDI BANDING PERFORMA MESIN TURBOFAN CF6-80C DENGAN RB211-524H YANG DIGUNAKAN PADA PESAWAT BOEING 747-400
ABSTRACT: Today, application
of turbofan engine become a best choice in aircraft propulsion especially for
commercial aircraft. This reason caused the turbofan engine has a high
efficiency fuel consumption rather than turbojet engine and it can also
operated in high velocity rather than turboprop engine. B 747-400 has two type
of gas turbine engine, they are CF6-80C series and RB211-524 H series, both of
them surely have not similar in engine performance. The engine performance
classified in specific fuel consumption (SFC), specific thrust (f/mo,), fuel/air
ratio (f), efficiency thermal (ߟ்),
efficiency propulsion (ߟ, efficiency total (ߟ) where each others have interrelated and interaction. This
research do the comparison study about performance of both engine where usually
use in B 747-400 aircraft as engine propulsion with altitude 35.000 feet in
operation condition. The result of comparison produce that specific fuel
consumption turbofan engine RB211-524 series higher than turbofan engine CF6-80C.
