DETERMINAN FERTILITAS DI INDONESIA
ABSTRACT: Fertility stagnated
over the last 10 years ( 2.6 ) , while the use of contraception increased less
than one percent , and under-five mortality decline only slightly . This paper presents
the results of further analysis of IDHS 2012 aim to know factors directly or
indirectly as the most dominant contributing to the children ever born, sample
analysis unit number of 45 607 women aged 15-49 years , were analyzed
statistically descriptive univariate, bivariate ( chi - square ), multivariate
(multiple linear regression). Twenty- four variables have a significant
relationship to the children ever born, eleven of whom are strong variables
affect the children ever born. Taking into account the control variables, the
eleven variables contribute 66 per cent of children ever born. The death of a
child is the most dominant variable contributing to a children ever born, and
this is in line with the theory of Alberto, child mortality tend to have more
children. The results also explain the stagnation of fertility which can not be
separated from the contribution of the slow declining mortality so that
fertility is still high. Recommendations include educational information,
especially the strengthening of communication delays age -related mating age at
first birth and age at first sexual intercourse for young women, the lowest
wealth quintile, low education by strengthening The Information Center of
Adolescent Reproductive Health Councelling; partnership with the Ministry of
Health , especially the strengthening of education and information
communication and quality of services mother and child care program that
concerning the highest contribution of child mortality to the children ever
born.
