PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE THINK PAIR SHARE (TPS) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIS SISWA KELAS VII SMP MUHAMMADIYAH PASIR PENGARAIAN

ABSTRACT: This study aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning Think Pair Share (TPS) model toward the ability of mathematical concept understanding at seven grade students of  SMP Muhammadiyah Pasir Pengarain. This study was the quasi-experimental research. The population in this study were students of class VII SMP Muhammadiyah Pasir Pengarain with sample graders and class VII1, VII2. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling technique that consists of two classes, namely the experimental class and control class. The experimental class applied Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model and grade control applied to conventional learning models. Hypothesis testing using the t test calculation results obtained  thitung ≥ ttabel that ware 7.465 ≥ 2.016 for α = 0.025, then H0 is rejected. In conclution Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model effect  toword the ability of mathematical concepts understanding at students class VII SMP Muhammadiyah Pasir Pengaraian the academic year 2015/2016.
