Kecanduan Internet: Haruskah Ada di DSM-5?
Abstract: The aim of this
paper is to give a brief overview of research and theoretical considerations on
internet addiction classification. In the last decade, internet usage has grown
tremendously on a global scale. Internet addiction is an emergent disorder, because
the increasing popularity has led to the emergence of clinical cases presenting
abuse symtoms. Internet addiction shows the features of excessive use,
withdrawal phenomena, tolerance, and negative effect. Internet addiction
considered with impulse control disorder, anxiety disorder, stress disorder,
bipolar disorder, etc. But there is considerable controversy with respect to
so-called internet addiction and whether it ought to be reified as a diagnosis
for psychopathology in the DSM-5. However there are no widely accepted
diagnostic criteria.
