PEMANFAATAN PECAHAN KACA (BELING) SEBAGAI AGREGAT HALUS PADA BETON

ABSTRACT: In Seruyan district, especially Kuala Pembuang, there are many waste from broken glass (beling) which often found in various places, for example, household waste, river banks or final disposal of waste (TPA). Waste from broken glass is considered to be major problem on the environment, so that the use of the waste as added material of concrete can reduced the negative effect on the environment. The objective of the study is to measure the compressive strength of the concrete with broken glass as a replacement of the fine aggregate. The test specimens were concrete cubes with dimensions of 15 × 15 × 15 cm 3 , with 3 mixed variations, i.e. concrete without “beling” (B0, concrete with 15% of “beling” (BNB15) and concrete with 25% of “beling” (BNB25). The compressive strength test were measured at 7 and 28 days after concrete mix. The results of the experiment showed that the addition of the “beling” as a replacement of the fine aggregate increase the compressive strength of concrete with 15% of “beling” while in the concrete with 25% of “beling” tends to decrease the compressive strength, compared with concrete without beling.
