Evaluasi Kurikulum Program Studi Kesehatan Masyarakat, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan Yogyakarta
Abstract: Solving a complex
public health problem in the 21st century requires public health professionals
who excel in the field of public health sciences (hard skills) and have skills
which are general in nature (soft skills). The purpose of this study was to
evaluate the achievement of hard skills and soft skills in the curriculum of
Public Health Study Program of UAD (PHSP UAD). Method: A descriptive study with
cross sectional design was conducted on final year students of PHSP UAD from
regular and non-regular program. Achievement of hard skills was evaluated
through a grade point average (GPA) from all final year students who actively
involved in teaching and learning activities and those who have completed their
studies. The level of importance and achievement of soft skills was evaluated
by the General Skills survey from Tuning with convenience sampling. Results:
The overall average of GPA (n=325) was 3.22. Achievement of soft skills (n=147)
showed that the achievement of skills associated with knowledge in the field of
public health were good. The achievement of capacity for applying knowledge in
practice and some other skills which are needed in the working world in the
21st century were still low. Conclusion: Hard skills achievement of final year
students of PHSP UAD showed satisfactory results. Satisfactory achievement of
soft skills was still limited only to skills which are related to knowledge in
the field of public health. Meanwhile, soft skills achievement which are needed
in the working world in the 21st century were still low
