Relationship of anemia and premature rupture of membranes


Abstract: Prematur rupture of membranes (PROM) is a complication that is still often found during pregnancy and childbirth which most often leads to premature birth in Indonesia. Theincidence of KPD varies considerably. At gestational age less than 34 weeks the incidence is about 4%. Some of the early rupture of membranes have a latent period of more than 1 week. The purpose of this study to determine the association of anemia with premature rupture of membranes in RSU Kab. Tangerang.
Methods: This type of research analytic case control design. Dependent Variables premature rupture of this study and the independent variable is anemia. The study population is all the mothers who have premature rupture of the sample of 38 respondents. The sampling techniqueusing systematic random sampling with a check list with multiples of 275 for which no KPD and 40 for the KPD. Using univariate and bivariate analysis with chi-square test.
Results: The result showed the majority of maternal anemia is not premature rupture of membranes (65.4 % ). While the majority anemia experiencing premature rupture of membranes(83.3%). Chi – square test results between anemia with premature rupture of membranes wasobtained p = 0.015 p < 0.05, which means that Ho is rejected and it can be concluded that there isa relationship between anemia and the incidence of premature rupture of membranes in RSU Kabupaten Tangerang.
Conclusions: This study is expected to be used as input that nutrition before or during pregnancy Affects the baby 's health and maternal health conditions during pregnancy to keep the baby in the womb of the mother.
