Formulasi dan Uji Sifat Fisik Tablet Arang Aktif dari Limbah Cangkang Sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacg) sebagai Obat Antidiare
ABSTRACT: Palm Shells (Elaeis
guineensis Jacg) previously regarded as wastes that are not useful and only
used as pavers as well as mixed fodder. Nowadays, with advances in technology,
some of palm products such coir, as well as palm shells can be modified into
products with high economic value such as activated charcoal that can be used
in the treatment of diarrhea because of its adsorbent property. The method used
to make activated charcoal tablets was wet granulation method with two kinds of
formula. Physical properties of tablets included uniformity of weights and
sizes, hardness, friability, and tablet disintegration time. The result showed
that the formula that gives the most excellent physical properties of the
tablet is the formula 2 used dose 125 mg active charcoal.
